This past weekend The Doodle took our show on the road and headed up to Sebring for the 3rd Annual MS Crop 4 Hope held at the Kenilworth Lodge. Boy-oh-boy did we have a blast! We were invited to be the on-site store for the event and I have to tell y'all two things about this...#1) It was FUN being the store to 90 excited scrapbookers and #2) we must have done something right, 'cause we have already been invited back for next year! My advice to all you reading this is to mark your calendars NOW (IN PEN!!) for the November 13th weekend (I think that's right). In fact you should contact Jackie right now about signing up early!
This is the whole group of croppers who attended this weekend! Lots of us, huh?
Here is my post crop "Top Ten" moments from the event!
10. The veggie sandwich from Panera. It was so yummy it was more like an experience than lunch!
9. John. He was the ultimate "Scrubby" that weekend with all that he was doing to keep 100 women happy! I know he was a big help to Jackie, but to me he was funny, helpful and downright charming!
8. The massages from Kelly! I am now a confirmed believer that there are people out there with actual healing hands. Kelly is one of those people and thankfully she was on hand offering the most amazing massages!
7. Winning something at the raffle. I lost count on actually how many raffles and auction items Jackie and crew had. I think it was something amazing like over 85! Anyway I had my eye on the Fire Pit and Dianne had her eye on the $45 GC to Carrabas. We were like two nuts in the room waiting for our names to be called! I lost out on the Fire Pit, but I did walk away with a beautiful set of earrings and a $75 GC for really cool personalized photo jewelry!
6. Hugs from Jackie. I kept getting them all weekend along with lots of "thank you"s. One time she even made me cry! I love hugs...especially those kinds!
5. Sharing our vendor space with the girls from KNK. One cropper came into our shared shop and said, "I just love coming in here-it's just so cozy!" I agreed! We made some new friends with Gerri-Ann and Barb. They were fun and very considerate. I am looking forward to another event we can do together!
4. Teaching class. I had a really cool project (if I can say so myself!) and not only did I get the students in class hooked on the UTEE tile technique, I got lots of passer-bys interested! Check the December calendar for a repeat class if you are interested.
3. Smack talking. Okay, okay! I know that I shouldn't do it, but it is so much fun! Must say that I really did learn my lesson about smack talking!! I mean really...Lisa Bearnson? Really??!!! How could I get that question wrong? Next year ladies...next year...
2. Sitting outside in the evenings with some of the "old-timers" on the rocking chairs reminiscing about the "good old days". There were only a very few of the original "Florida Scrappers" group there, but boy was it great to see them again. PS-Jean...You look FANTASTIC! Love the pink "do"!
1. Scrapping with friends. Love the laughter, the jokes, the inspiration, the sharing, the goofiness (especially when you sit near Stacey!) and the SISTERHOOD of it all! What an amazing group of women! Thanks to you all for a fun weekend!
I will be posting photos to the photo albums section later, so keep checking for them! Hope to see y'all there next year!
