My good friend, Ginni, loves bits of trivia and I thought about her when I decided to make "Factoid Friday" post a regular blog thing! So make sure to check the Doodle's blog every Friday to learn something new! Since we just came off of an election, how about a Presidential "factoid"?
President Benjamin Harrison, our 23rd President, was afraid of electricity.
About the time that the White House was being wired for electricity, the electric chair was becoming a common form of execution so he knew that electricity could kill a person. During President Harrison's "stay" at the White House he and his wife wanted nothing to do with turning the lights on or off, so they had the servants do it for them. Either that or they would either leave the lights on or off all night long.
