This Thursday our new and super-talented teacher, Stacey will be teaching a GREAT class! 

She will help you create an album-in-a-tin.  This easy and fun album is chock full of great techniques and embellished-embellishments done up in the unique "Stacey way".  The class is called "Motherhood Tin" and is created using the entire "mom" line from Daisy D's in reds, yellows, teals, greens and black.  You will love putting photos of your mom or you and your kids in the album.  The cost is only $35 and the time is from 6:30-8:30 pm.

Dearest darlingest Momsie and Popsicle...

I just got off the phone with Spencer who went with the other guys from QK to see Wicked while they were in Chicago.  Now, I've seen this play twice already-the first time being opening weekend with original cast in NYC (!!!) and I've got to tell you that I REALLY wanted to go with them in Chicago!  I love that play, I love that music and if anyone out there loves it more than me or my friend, Ginni, it would have to be Spencer.  So, you see I wanted to go enjoy the play with him!  Maybe sing a few songs beforehand just to get ready....oh, well...I'll just sit here and listen to it over my computer and be jealous happy that they went!!

So...you may be wondering all about CHA Chicago.  Well, to tell you the truth-I AM TOO!!  Jill went this year with her girls and has been having the fun of shopping all by herself.  Just between us I have to tell you that could be a bit dangerous.  See, all the other years she had Leisa, Jo or me to kind-of say "think about it" or "wait", but without us there she may be coming back having written so many new orders that we won't have the room to put it all!  Oh, well...that means that y'all will just have to shop faster!  So as soon as she gets back and we go through all the catalogs and orders I will let you know what we have on the way!  We will all learn about the new stuff together.  Cannot wait!

One, two, three-QUICKUTZ!

I have three pieces of news to discuss with y'all about QuicKutz.

#1-I just put up more photos on the blog from our Utah trip that I couldn't post earlier (because we were not supposed to!).  So pop on over to the "photo album" section of the blog and click on "Cookie Cutter Ideas".  You are gonna be so inspired!

#2-We are going to be ordering an EXCLUSIVE shape die.  That means that the folks at QK will be making a die just for us at The Doodle.  We get to pick the shape and the size.  I am pretty sure we will be doing a 4" die, but we need your help with picking out the shape.  In order to get your vote in  you need to drop by the store and fill out a sheet that includes your name, phone number and the shape you would like to see us have made.  (You cannot "phone it in!!  LOL)  Once we check out all your suggestions, we will choose the shape we want to be made and then pull one name from those who have helped us pick the shape and that person will win FREE goodies from QuicKutz including the NEW shape that is created just for us!!  So put on your thinking caps and come up with a good one!

#3-Starting this Saturday you will be able to get some great savings on the Revolution.  This is the coolest tool...super easy to use!  I particularly love it when my carpel tunnel is acting up!!  We are going to make it super easy to own one!!  Regularly the machine sells for $149.99 but for the next two weeks you can take one of these little beauties home with you for only $79!!  That is almost half off (remember...I cannot do math so well, so I can't figure out exactly what the percentage is...I just know it's HUGE!!)

So that is three things for you to do...oogle the photos, vote on the shape and save some money!!

CKU Registration and local promotion!

Howdy!

Don't know how many of you are planning a trip to Orlando this year to go to CKU (Creating Keepsakes University) but we are working with them on a fun promotion!  If you are planning on being glued to your computer tonight waiting for the 8pm (right?) buzzer to sound for registration to begin, then make sure to do two things.  One-list Whim So Doodle as you local scrapbook store and two-bring your registration conformation sheet into the store and the first 12 people to show us that they are "in" gets a prize voucher for a FREE goody from Creating Keepsakes valued at $15!  You will be able to redeem your voucher here at The Doodle after July 25th.

If you have not been to a CKU in the past or don't know a thing about them...let me fill you in!  Creating Keepsakes, the magazine, sponsors the event.  They partner with many industry leaders like Making Memories, Ranger, Creative Imaginations and so many more to put on a long weekend event.  You pay $345 and that includes tons of classes from folks like Becky Higgins, Ali Edwards, Tim Holtz and more!  There is also crop times and lots of fun.  It is being held at the Wyndham hotel in Orlando (personally I would have picked the Gaylord...but y'all know I would live there if I could!).  I have been a few years and have had a great time!!  To learn more you can pop over to their website and read all about it:  http://secure.creatingkeepsakes.com/

Which came first the cookie or the Cooke Cutter?!

Well...officially the cookie came first!  And if you were at the store today you would have seen some total nuts jumping around when the Otis Spunkmeyer truck pulled up to our front door with our oven and cookie delivery!  Guess what that means?!  Hot, gooey, yummy cookies straight from our own little oven!  How cool is that!?  Come on by and take a whiff of what is baking in Cafe Doodle!!

Since the QuicKutz Cookie Cutter system will be unveiled tomorrow, we are going to be doing live demos from 2-8pm tomorrow showing you all how wonderful this new...er....thing is!  (It is only a day away from it's release and I still wont spill the beans!!  LOL)  We will be showing you just how cool it is and how to use it!  Everyone can get to do a little Cookie Cutter "taste test".  And when you take the taste test we will give you a warm Otis Spunkmeyer cookie too!  Oh what fun we are gonna have tomorrow!

Just remember that the release time for Florida is 2pm, that is why our demos start then!  We cannot release it any earlier!! 

More QK news...the newest Summer of Fun shapes have been delayed because of the Cookie Cutter release and we do not have our shapes yet.  But that will not stop us from pre-selling them and holding them for you!  So, if you want to get one, call us and we will pull it first when the boxes arrive.
